The Annual Essay Contest for Children and Young People of African Descent
Be a Judge! Every year this contest is greatly enriched by the contributions of the Judges from across the African Diaspora who selflessly give their time and support and encourage our children by providing invaluable feedback on 20 essays from the age group of your choice. Some Judges also choose to : 1. offer Special Prizes to contestants whose essay they particularly liked as well as to those whom they feel could benefit from a little encouragement. 2. contribute to the cost of the overall prizes. This contest is made possible by the Judges who believe in the ethos of this initiative - and who do not believe in waiting for some foreign entity to finance this work. Qualifications to be a Judge: 1. Be of African descent. 2. Willing to commit to read and provide feedback on up to 20 essays from one of the three age groups of your choice. 3. Available via email in March-April. That's it! Judges do not leave home as the 20 essays are emailed to them. If you are unable to work with 20, please let me know. I would really appreciate it if you could read 20 as I have to turn away thousands of young essayists who want to participate. Complete Judges' Registration form below today. Do you speak a language in addition to English, especially a traditional African language? We would love to hear from you! Please do not register below. Instead, register at: lornajones.tk/form/ |
Please invite your African friends who are keen to support our children to become Judges. On behalf of our children, Thank You.
